Council

Originally from London, England, Nigel grew up in Michigan but has called South Florida home since 1970.  Nigel is a proud U.S. Army Veteran, and a graduate (79’) of Florida Atlantic University. He actually worked his way through school as a police officer, then detective before serving 4 years as an Organized Crime Division agent.   

An avid snow skier growing up, he raced World Cup for two years. An original member of the U.S. Speed Skiing Team, he served on the U.S. Ski Association’s Olympic Committee for Speed Skiing from 1987-89. After retiring from ski racing, Nigel spent seven years as the CEO for two national ski companies. He founded, and later successfully sold, the largest charter ski company in Florida. 

Nigel entered the mortgage industry in 1997 and quickly became nationally recognized, taking successful leadership roles with two publicly traded companies. Passionate about community involvement, Nigel served as Chairman of the Art in Public Places Board for the City of Bonita Springs from 2004 until his election to City Council in 2022. He served on the Board of Directors for: Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County (12 years), the Amigos Center for Lee and Collier counties (4 years), and serves on the Board of Directors of the Bonita Springs Center for The Arts. In 2015 he was elected President of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Southwest Florida and continues to serve on the Southwest Florida Board of Governors. He is an active member of the Bonita Springs Chamber of Commerce, and the of Bonita-Estero Realtor Board. Nigel served as a Team Leader in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life from 2005-2017. He remains an avid snow skier, boater and still loves to travel.

Nigel was elected as Bonita Springs City Councilman, District 5, in 2022, and serves as the City Council Liaison to: the Veteran’s Committee, Blue Zone Committee, Human Services Committee, Art in Public Places Board and the Lee County Tourist Development Council.
