The goal of the Parks and Recreation Department is to revitalize the City of Bonita Springs and to enrich the quality of lives of our local residents, along with our visitors and develop their communities through quality recreation and leisure needs.

Recreation Center

The City of Bonita Springs Recreation Center sits on 41.9 acres of land which is located at 26740 Pine Avenue off of West Terry Street and has something for everyone. Our facility includes a full-sized gymnasium, a cardiovascular/fitness room, skate park, community pool, softball fields, 2 public tennis courts, 18-hole disc golf course, picnic areas and a playground. We also offer daily activities and registered classes to teach and enlighten everyone of all ages.

Riverside Park

The Bonita Springs Riverside Park is located on old US 41 Road and sits on the Imperial River. The park is used for holiday celebrations, art shows, festivals, Movies in the Park, and the Celebrate Bonita Festival. Also in the park is the newly renovated band shell. Our amenities include sheltered picnic tables, park benches and restrooms.

Community Pool

The twenty-five yard Community Outdoor Pool is located at 26890 Pine Avenue, just off West Terry Street. The facility offers a number of classes year round. The pool has eight lap lanes and ranges from three feet nine inches to six feet deep, and is temperature controlled.

Recreation News and Updates


  • The tennis court lights at the City of Bonita Springs Recreation Complex are temporarily out of service.
  • The City of Bonita Springs Recreation Center will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2016 – Labor Day Holiday.  All regularly scheduled programs and activities at the recreation center will not be held on this date.
  • New – The City of Bonita Springs and the Bonita YMCA are partnering to offer pool access at the YMCA on Saturdays and Sundays, July 16-September 4, 2016.  Public access is available on Saturdays from 1 pm – 4 pm and Sundays from 10 am – 2 pm.  Daily guest fees, $5.oo per person or $15 per family with 2 adults and up to 4 children aged 17 and under, additional adults and children $5 per person.  All guests 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.  Fee includes access to pool and locker facilities.

  • Summer Karate!  Sign up today – Mondays and Wednesdays, youth 5 pm – 6 pm, adult 6 pm-7 pm – Aug. 8-31.  8 classes, fee $45.
  • NFL Punt, Pass & Kick – FREE football skills contest for boys and girls ages 6-15. Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 6 pm. Please contact the recreation center at 239-992-2556 for more information.
