Ben Nelson Jr. is a third generation Floridian who grew up in his hometown
of Bonita Springs.
Before being elected Mayor, Ben served on the Bonita Springs City Council
for eight years in District Six. He has owned and operated Nelson Marine
Construction for 30 years. Prior to serving on the Council, Ben served as a
Director for Bonita Springs Utilities for ten years, three of them as
President. He is a member of Cypress Lodge in Naples, the Bonita Springs Rotary
Club, The Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, and has been a member of the
historic First United Methodist Church in Bonita Springs for over 40 years.
Ben has been married to his wife Lori for 11 years; he has twin boys, Nick
and Neil, age 32, one daughter Megan, age 27, and three grandchildren.
Committee Assignments: Metropolitan Planning Organization,
Horizon Council, Bonita Springs/Estero Economic Development Council, Crew Land
& Water Trust Executive Committee.
City Liaison Assignments: Collier
County Commission, Chamber of Commerce, Lee County Commission, City Operations,
Impact Fees, Request for Action, Public Works, Code Enforcement.
